Final Wearable Structure -on Model-

For the last step before fashion show I tried a lot of styles of my garment and took over 200 pictures to find my personal finishing of this wearable structure…

After 2hours of developing my garment I choosed 4 of my favourits…

Thank you for your patience, Eichhörnchen;)

FINAL WEARABLE STRUCTURE -on mannequin-

7. DEC 2010

Finally my whole tights and polyester dried.
I pulled it off from my basket-table construction and put it on a mannequin…

On the following days I have a meeting with my friend, who is going to wear my final garment.

I continued my wearable structure using the second lining of the arm…

Therefore I prepared a cartidge paper to create a structure for the fabric to pleat it…I embellished the polyester lining by pleating.

I draw a sample with zig zag…

Hereby I was not sure if I’ll glue it or not, so I just put the edges of the polyester fabric with PVA…

The other parts already dried and got the interesting layerstructure…

More and more my construction is covered with fabrics and held its form.

Final Wearable Structure -II-

25. NOV 2010

After I glued interesting parts of the thrilled tights, I add my planned jacket to the constructions…

Originally I bought this jacket below for the lesson, but since a proper sized military jacket was provided, I tought it is a good use for my final garment…

But how am I going to add this garment?…

Therefore I put this jacket into parts. I liked the shiny polyester lining, which fitted to the black tights.

Final Wearable Structure -Tights and Militarylining on Basket/Table construction-

For my final 3D shape I didn’t want to built up my garment again on a chair.
But at uni the tables were all in use and even too big to put it all in clingfilm.

So I decided to start at home with our IKEA sidetable.
After I finished “clingfilming” it, I thought it would be too boring and looked around me to find something different than a bowl or cup…

I went around our flat and found those perfect sized two wood baskets.
Again using a lot of clingfilm, one basket was placed in the middle of the table…

Than I stacked both up…removed it/turned/made a bigger gap between them/over/under…

At the end I decided to take a very simple construction, since I wanted to glue more layers with tights…

Military Jacket

26. OCT 2010

For our next wearble structure a military jacket was provided for creating a new garment of a deconstructed tailored jacket…

Therefore I cut this jacket into its basic pieces…
It was really interesting how a “original” military jacket was tailored and how useful details were intergrated….

After deconstructioning, we were working in pairs to have more material and started to cover again a chair…
We tried different positions of it and decided to leave it in original standing, but we did not follow the chair shape…

Materials: Clingfilm, Mutton cloth, PVA or Latex and usual equipments.

Firstly, we twisted the cling film all the time to got a net.

But after we realized we need more surefaces of formen to make later more volume.

Basic process…

On the next day we put it on a mannequin…
